Quality Control Specialist

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Quality Control Specialist for its Food Ingredients business unit, based in San Marino. The role sits in the Quality Team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager, and ensures products meet quality standards and comply with applicable regulations. The Food Ingredients business unit is expected to be sold to CVC Capital Partners by the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and HACCP.
• Monitor and keep up to date with EU and international food legislation and regulations.
• Prepare technical data sheets and safety data sheets for finished products.
• Manage labeling activities, including drafting labels for final printing and working with graphic design agencies and customers' technical departments.
• Support supplier qualification and manage product and service documentation.
• Prepare periodic reports on product performance and key quality indicators.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, Logistics and Sales to promote quality and food safety awareness across the organization.
• Conduct or support internal audits and recommend corrective and improvement actions to the Quality Manager.

Required profile

• Previous professional experience in quality control or a related area.
• Degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry or a related field.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and food-related system and product certifications.
• Good command of English, strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
• Must live near the company due to commuting requirements.

Previous food industry experience, knowledge of EU food legislation and label design or label management software are advantages.
